🗓️ Event: An Evening with David Ignatius 📅 Date: Tuesday, October 6 ⏰ Time: 7:00 PM EDT 📍 Location: Van Metre Hall Auditorium, Mason Square, 3351 N Fairfax Dr, Arlington, VA 🎥 Livestream: YouTube @haydencenter 🎓 Hosted by: Michael V. Hayden Center for Intelligence, Policy, and International Security, Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University The Hayden Center is proud to welcome David Ignatius — The Washington Post‘s longtime foreign affairs columnist and among the most respected chroniclers of the U.S. Intelligence Community writing today. For nearly four decades, Ignatius has covered the Central Intelligence Agency, the Middle East, and global espionage with unmatched access and insight, from his early reporting at The Wall Street Journal to his twice-weekly Post column, which regularly draws on deep sourcing inside the intelligence and national security establishment. Beyond his journalism, Ignatius is also one of the genre’s most acclaimed spy novelists, having written twelve bestselling thrillers — including Body of Lies (adapted into the 2008 film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe), The Director, and Agents of Innocence — that draw on his real-world reporting to illuminate the hidden world of tradecraft, technology, and betrayal. His most recent novel, Phantom Orbit, takes readers into the high-stakes arena of space and satellite warfare between the U.S., Russia, and China. The conversation will be moderated by our senior fellow, Dr. David Priess, a former CIA intelligence officer, manager, and daily intelligence briefer who is the author of The President’s Book of Secrets . He is also Vice President of Strategy and Chief of Staff for Emergent Risk International. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear directly from a journalist and storyteller who has spent a career bridging the public’s understanding of the intelligence world with the realities behind the headlines. Come prepared with your own questions! Register today to secure your seat. 🍷 Reception to Follow All attendees are invited to a complimentary reception with light fare. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. 🎥 Can’t attend in person? |
