Atlantic Council | In-Person & Online Event
Description: Please join the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center on Friday, September 8 at 8:00 a.m. (ET) for a discussion on US-emerging market clean energy partnerships to be held at the Atlantic Council headquarters in Washington, DC and virtually. Emerging markets are poised to constitute the lion’s share of global economic growth through 2050. To ensure growth in these markets continues both apace and in line with net-zero emissions goals, the United States has a role to play in partnering with these markets on the deployment of clean technologies as a climate solution. What is the market opportunity for trade in four clean technologies (solar photovoltaic, offshore wind, carbon capture, utilization, and storage; and smart grids) between the United States and 10 key emerging markets (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, the Philippines, South Africa, Vietnam)? How can the United States develop innovative trade models to enable these markets to deliver on their decarbonization goals, through clean technology trade, and promote US industry?
