Description: In the lead-up to COP28, the UAE presidency promised to devote significant attention to agriculture and food security during COP proceedings. As negotiations are ongoing in Dubai, hopes remain high that conference outcomes will spotlight climate finance, adaptation, and resilience among producers, and emphasize the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions across food systems. The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is working to ensure COP28 outcomes are inclusive and supportive of rural communities, doing so in part through the IFAD13 campaign that has a particular focus on supporting communities in fragile contexts, investing in biodiversity, and increasing private sector engagement.
