Yet African countries are working together swiftly to react to the increasing impacts of climate change—for example, Kenya hosted the first African Climate Summit between September 4 and 6 this year, where countries signed the Nairobi Declaration, solidifying Africa’s common position on addressing climate change. Thus, COP28 presents an opportunity to accelerate and highlight an Africa-focused climate agenda. This event will dive deep into Africa’s agenda at COP28, drawing focus to the continent’s priorities and actionable recommendations for leaders meeting in Dubai.
