SUMMARY:African solutions at COP28: A turning point?
DESCRIPTION:The Atlantic Council | Virtual Event \nDescription: Previous United Nations Climate Change Conferences\, known as COPs\, have failed to ensure adequate African representation. Yet African countries are working together swiftly to react to the increasing impacts of climate change—for example\, Kenya hosted the first African Climate Summit between September 4 and 6 this year\, where countries signed the Nairobi Declaration\, solidifying Africa’s common position on addressing climate change. Thus\, COP28 presents an opportunity to accelerate and highlight an Africa-focused climate agenda. This event will dive deep into Africa’s agenda at COP28\, drawing focus to the continent’s priorities and actionable recommendations for leaders meeting in Dubai. Join us for a panel with high-level climate experts on Africa’s potential at COP28 on Tuesday\, November 21\, at 10 am ET. \nThe registration link can be found below.
