SUMMARY:Nicholas Burns\, US Ambassador to China
DESCRIPTION:The Stimson Center | Virtual Event \nDescription: The United States’ relationship with China would be complex at any time\, but few periods have been more challenging than today. The two countries have notable disagreements over trade\, territorial claims\, human rights\, and the international order itself\, at a time when skepticism towards China’s role in the world seems to be one of the few areas of bipartisan consensus in DC. Central to managing the relationship is Ambassador Nicholas Burns\, Washington’s voice in Beijing\, who brings decades of public service experience to one of the most challenging diplomatic posts in the world since taking the oath of office in December 2021. Burns will be joined in discussion by the Stimson Center’s John Bellinger and Yun Sun. Sun leads Stimson’s China Program. Bellinger is a member of Stimson’s Board of Directors\, a former State Department and National Security Council legal advisor\, and Partner and Co-Chair of Global Law and Public Policy at Arnold & Porter. \nThe registration link can be found below.
